The problem
The GC asks for Rev B. You upload to Dropbox. Email the link. The GC marks it up. Replies with redlines. You email the next rev. Three weeks later nobody remembers which version got approved. The install crew shows up with Rev C while the architect signed off on Rev D.
Fabrica fixes the three things wrong with this: no versioning, no approval audit trail, and no professional-looking links. Drawings live inside the project. Revisions are tracked. Approval is a single click. The link you send is your brand, not a third party's.

Every file has a "Copy link" button. One click copies a URL like this:
Looks like your brand. Works on mobile. Tracks views: every click increments a counter and updates "last viewed" — so you can tell whether the GC actually opened your drawing. When you want to kill the link, one click revokes it.
What you can tag on each file
Drawing / Submittal / Contract / Photo / Other. Lets you filter the file list later when you've got 30 files on a job.
Free-text — "Rev A" or "Final" or "v3 — install" or whatever your shop uses. No required taxonomy.
Pending / Approved / Rejected. Stamps the date + the approver's name automatically when you set it to Approved. Audit trail in one field.
GC name, designer's name, your PM's name — whoever signed off. Doesn't have to be a Fabrica user; just what you'd write on the email reply.
Whatever else matters. "GC pushed back on hardware finish" or "approved verbally over phone 3/14."
Storage
Drawings are stored on Vercel Blob (S3-class object storage from the same company that hosts the app). Each file's URL has an unguessable random suffix — even if someone knows the structure, they can't guess their way in. 25 MB per file is the upload cap, plenty for typical PDFs and image sets; CAD-heavy shops with 100 MB drawings should compress or split.

PDF, PNG, JPG, HEIC, WebP, DWG, DXF, SKP (SketchUp), RVT (Revit), XLS, XLSX, DOC, DOCX, CSV, ZIP. We block executables on principle.
Compress the PDF (Acrobat's "Reduce file size" usually gets you under 10 MB), or split into multiple files. Bumping the cap is on the roadmap; the limit exists today because Vercel's server-action body size has its own ceiling. For now, 25 MB covers ~95% of real-world drawing sets.
The slug has 96 bits of entropy (12 random base64 characters), so brute-forcing isn't realistic. The links are public — anyone with the URL can view, like Google Drive's "anyone with the link." For strictly confidential work, we have a "private files + signed URLs" mode planned; let us know if you need it before launch.
Every link tracks a view count and a "last viewed" timestamp. We don't currently expose the per-visitor IP / user info because the share routes are public — but we can tell you that "this drawing's been opened 4 times, last on Tuesday."
First 5 GB free (about 50-200 active projects' worth of drawings for a typical shop). After that, $0.15/GB/month — usually less than $1/month for an active shop.
